conference will be held in Algarve, Portugal at
the Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro.
In the
Algarve, close to the picturesque village of Carvoeiro, The
Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro is a very special hotel with a
Moorish influence in its décor, which is nestled in a
dramatic location perched above a small cove with its own
secluded beach. This hotel has been built on the rocks above
the Vale Covo beach, which is surrounded by caves and rocks
forming an inlet of limpid and quiet waters.
How to
get to Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro
What you can do around the
Hotel
Situated
on the extreme South of Portugal, this part of the territory
was the last to be conquered from the Moors by the
Portuguese king in 1292. Traces of the Moorish presence are
still seen in its unique architecture - terraces, chimneys
and whitewashed houses.

The
coastline is notable for picturesque limestone caves and
grottoes, particularly around Lagos, which are
accessible by powerboat. Praia da Marinha, Lagoa was
classified as one of the 100 most beautiful and well
preserved beaches of the world. There are many other
beautiful and famous summer places such as Albufeira,
Vilamoura, Portimão, Lagos, Armação de Pêra, Quarteira,
Monte Gordo and Tavira.
Algarve an aquarelle in shades of mountain and sea where
warm brush strokes of golden shores mix gently with the
scent of wild flowers. A region renowned for its
sea-smelling colourful fishing boats. A paradise with
the most beautiful shores in Europe all fringed by rocks
that were sculpted by the sea and immense golden sands
that extend far and wide.

As you
travel across the Algarve, amidst its hills and plains
filled with places of great ecological interest, rich in
biodiversity and ecosystems, you will feel as though you are
passing through an area full of different traditions,
unchanged for many centuries.
The
region's built heritage is something you cannot afford to
miss. The architecture of the whitewashed houses, with their
brightly-coloured mouldings and remarkably beautiful
chimneys, the church belfries and the museums, all reveal
particular memories of the ancestors of the Algarve people
and help to make this such a special destination.
The
handicraft is skilfully manufactured by the local craftsmen,
who make use of longstanding, ancestral techniques and
produce an excellent range of pottery, woven baskets, copper
and brass articles, or other pieces made of linen and jute.
Its
gastronomy is a superb menu that offers a wide variety of
Mediterranean highland aromas and flavours and includes
dishes made with fish and shellfish, such as the famous
"Caldeirada de Peixe" (fish stew) or the typical "Cataplana
de Ameijoas" (a dish prepared with cockles). There are
traditional restaurants to please everyone, bars and casinos
and for those whose batteries never run out, countless
discos with wide open doors to inviting you to dance the
night away.
